Zelensky thanks Europe, seeks €70 billion in aid for 2027 as Starlink service restored
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed Friday that Starlink internet service is being restored after a disruption, though speeds have not yet returned to previous levels, while he thanked European allies for their support. Speaking to journalists in Brussels, Zelensky said Ukraine's Defense Ministry is in daily contact with US officials regarding the service. He expressed gratitude if the White House indeed signaled SpaceX to restore connectivity, noting France and other countries are being consulted for additional capabilities. Zelensky also criticized a US-Russia agreement allowing Moscow to resume diesel sales internationally, called for frozen Russian assets to remain blocked and benefit Ukraine, and requested €70 billion in new European aid for 2027 following the €90 billion package already pledged.
