Russia Strikes Logistics Hub and Ship in Ukraine; Drone Attacks Hit St. Petersburg
Russia announced Sunday it struck a logistics center in Ukraine's Rivne city and a cargo ship off the Odesa port, claiming the vessel carried military equipment. The Russian Defense Ministry said nighttime drone attacks targeted logistics hubs, ports, and ships used for Ukrainian military needs. The ministry said the Rivne strike hit a Nova Poshta logistics center used to store dual-use cargo, including components for medium and long-range drones, and targeted a ship 30 kilometers east of Odesa. Meanwhile, St. Petersburg Governor Alexander Beglov reported Ukrainian drone attacks killed one person, injured five, damaged 12 residential buildings, and caused fires at the city's oil terminal. Leningrad Oblast Governor Alexander Drozdenko reported downing 126 Ukrainian drones, with damage to homes, power lines, and vehicles. Russian tech firm VK confirmed a data center attack but said services continued normally. Ukraine gave no immediate comment. The conflict began February 24, 2022, with Russia demanding Kyiv abandon Western military alliances.
