Russian forces hit Zaporizhstal steel plant with six ballistic missiles

podrobnosti.ua (Ukrainian) —

On October 17, Russian forces launched six ballistic missiles at the Zaporizhstal steel plant in Zaporizhzhia, marking the fifth attack on the facility in two months. No casualties were reported. The missiles struck the plant's internal energy and logistics infrastructure, and production sites at the blast furnace were damaged again. Workers reached shelters in time, according to Metinvest, which noted the plant had not returned to normal operations after previous attacks. Since August, the plant has endured five ballistic attacks totaling 23 missiles, killing eight workers and wounding 31. Production remains halted, though some processes were partially restored to prevent technological risks, and additional mobile shelters were installed.
