Xiaomi launched the Xiaomi 18 Fold, its first "passport-style" foldable smartphone, at an event in China on Monday, September 7. The device features a 200 MP Leica co-engineered camera, a 6,000 mAh battery, and the new in-house Xring 03 chipset. The phone will launch first in China starting at 12,999 CNY (about R$ 9,928), with no confirmed release date for other regions. It comes in black, gold, and intense red, plus a limited ceramic edition, and competes with Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Huawei's Pura X Max. The launch occurs two days before Apple's "Surprising and brilliant" event, where the company is expected to unveil its first foldable iPhone with similar dimensions. Given Xiaomi's history of not bringing foldables to Brazil, official availability there appears unlikely.
