Zelensky: Ukraine hit six Su-34 jets at Russia's Borisoglebsk airfield

nv.ua (Ukrainian) —

Ukraine's military struck the Borisoglebsk airfield in Russia's Voronezh region overnight, destroying four Su-34 fighter jets and damaging two others, according to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. Zelensky stated the aircraft were armed with aerial bombs and ready to launch new attacks on Ukraine. He confirmed the strike used long-range Neptune missiles, also verifying hits on a drone storage and launch site in Russia's Oryol region and a target in the Black Sea. The Ukrainian Navy noted the Su-34M jets are key Russian assets for guided bomb strikes. This follows a similar Ukrainian attack on the same airfield in July 2026, which hit an aircraft and a guided bomb warehouse.
