Trump Attacks Zelensky, Calls Ukraine's Strikes on Russian Refineries 'a Shame'
US President Donald Trump sharply criticized Ukraine's resumption of attacks on Russian oil refineries, calling it "a shame" and saying it drives up global energy prices. He also reiterated that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is more difficult to negotiate with than Russian President Vladimir Putin. Trump stated he is "not a big fan" of Zelensky, suggested Ukraine should hold an election to potentially replace him, and cited Russia's military advantage due to its size. Zelensky had earlier announced the "energy ceasefire" is lifted, saying Russia continued attacking Ukrainian infrastructure despite Kyiv's suspension of strikes. The announcement follows a Russian attack that left parts of Kyiv without power and caused low water pressure in several districts. Zelensky also recently expressed feeling betrayed by Trump's deal with the Kremlin to supply diesel to the US in exchange for suspended sanctions.
