Ukraine to Resume Strikes on Russian Oil Refineries
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced the resumption of Ukrainian attacks on Russian oil refineries, stating the blockade is lifted. This follows a two-day pause after US President Donald Trump announced a ceasefire on energy infrastructure attacks. Zelenskyy said Ukraine suspended the strikes after Trump's announcement, but Russia continued attacking Ukrainian energy facilities. Russia reported new Ukrainian attacks on refineries in the Ryazan and Saratov regions, with another drone attack reported in Ryazan. The announcement comes amid ongoing Russian strikes on Ukrainian energy infrastructure as winter approaches, causing power and water outages. Ukraine also faces a $40 billion funding gap for military needs in 2027, according to Finance Minister Serhij Martschenko.
