Senator Demands Pentagon Probe Into Starlink Limits in Ukraine
US Republican Senator Tom Tillis has initiated an investigation into the Pentagon over restrictions on Starlink operations in Ukraine, targeting Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and his team. The senator plans to request the Defense Department's Inspector General to conduct the probe and report to Congress. Tillis stated the restrictions harmed Ukrainian civilians and American diplomatic and security personnel, calling it either an unacceptable error or a deliberate decision to clear the way for Russian attacks. He suspects the issue may lie within the Pentagon's Starshield systems rather than Starlink or SpaceX. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed Starlink limitations occurred after he requested Patriot missiles from the US. The White House denied involvement, while SpaceX owner Elon Musk suggested US authorities or the Pentagon were responsible. Starlink military package operations have since reportedly resumed.
