Trump: Zelensky harder to deal with than Putin
U.S. President Donald Trump criticized Ukraine's decision to resume strikes on Russian oil refineries, calling it a "disgrace" that provokes rising global energy prices, and stated that dealing with Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky is more difficult than with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Trump made the remarks after Kyiv ended a three-day pause in attacks on Russian refineries, following Moscow's continued strikes on Ukrainian power plants. A Ukrainian drone attack on October 15 successfully hit a Rosneft facility in the Ryazan region, prompting Trump to say that destroying diesel-producing plants is a "bad service to the world" because of acute global demand. Trump also reiterated accusations that both Zelensky and Putin share mutual hatred, complicating the conflict resolution process. This comes amid reported restrictions on Ukraine's military Starlink service, with Reuters citing officials that the order originated from the White House, while Europe lacks a quick alternative to the satellite system.
