Musk advised Trump on Starshield limits for Ukraine, Telegraph reports

in.gr (Greek) —

The Telegraph reports that Elon Musk recommended to Donald Trump the restrictions on the Starshield satellite system in Ukraine, a decision that has complicated the interception of Russian drones. Both Trump and Musk have denied involvement in the restrictions. The British newspaper cites four well-informed sources claiming the decision was made by the US president following Musk's personal recommendation. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that restoration of Starlink services remains partial, with the system being critical for the war effort. A senior US official told AFP that Trump never ordered the restrictions, contradicting a Reuters report. The military version of Starlink is used by Ukrainian forces for communications and drone interception, with connectivity issues emerging when terminals move beyond approximately 160 km/h.
