Zelensky announces French aviation support packages after Macron meeting

nv.ua (Ukrainian) —

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that France will deliver new packages to strengthen Ukrainian aviation in October, following a meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron at the EU summit in Brussels on October 15. During the meeting, Russia launched a drone strike on Ukraine's energy infrastructure in Lutsk, causing power outages. Zelensky noted Russia ignored a US proposal to halt strikes on energy facilities and is exploiting Starlink disruptions to maximize destruction. Zelensky also said work on the European anti-ballistic program FREYJA will be accelerated, aiming for it to operate by year's end. All promised French arms production licenses have been received, and France is developing interceptor drones for Ukraine's air defense.
