Ukraine runs out of Patriot interceptor missiles, CNN reports
Ukraine has exhausted its supply of interceptor missiles for American-made Patriot air defense systems, leaving it more vulnerable to Russian ballistic missile strikes, according to CNN citing a source familiar with the situation. The source told CNN that "almost all ballistic missiles during the last strike were not intercepted due to a lack of interceptor missiles." During that attack, Russian ballistic missiles hit three power plants in Kyiv and targeted energy infrastructure in Kharkiv, killing four people and wounding 25 in the capital. President Volodymyr Zelensky had warned for months that Ukraine was running out of American Patriot interceptors. The report follows President Donald Trump's October 11 claim of an agreed energy ceasefire, which Zelensky said he was unaware of but ready to accept, while Russia continued striking Ukrainian energy facilities.
