Ukrainian drones strike Russian refinery in Ryazan region
A fire broke out at a major Russian oil refinery in the Ryazan region following a massive Ukrainian drone attack, according to regional governor Pavel Malkov. The facility is one of Russia's largest and supplies fuel to Moscow. The Ryazan refinery, owned by Rosneft, processes 13 to 17 million tons of oil annually. The attack came after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced Kyiv would resume strikes on Russian refineries, having paused them due to a US-brokered energy ceasefire. Ukraine had suspended the strikes after President Donald Trump announced the truce on Sunday, but Kyiv said Russia continued attacking Ukrainian energy infrastructure. Both sides have intensified aerial strikes during the fifth year of Russia's full-scale invasion.
