Russian drone attacks cut power across Kyiv and Kharkiv, killing two

nos.nl (Dutch) —

Large parts of Ukraine came under Russian attack overnight, leaving hundreds of thousands without power and killing at least two people in Kharkiv. Major sections of Kyiv lost electricity, and about 370,000 people in the northwest region of Volyn were left without power. Kyiv's mayor reported that multiple districts had their power stations hit, causing water pressure loss on the right bank of the Dnipro River. Fires from downed drones broke out in the city, with several injured people hospitalized, while one death was reported in Lutsk. The attacks follow President Trump's unilateral ceasefire on energy sectors, which Ukraine abandoned citing ongoing Russian drone strikes. Trump called Ukraine's resumed attacks on Russian refineries "a disgrace," and reports indicate the White House restricted Ukraine's use of the Starshield network.
