White House denies role in Starlink limits in Ukraine – Axios

pravda.com.ua (Ukrainian) —

The White House has denied any involvement in restrictions placed on SpaceX's Starlink satellite service in Ukraine, according to the Axios news outlet, citing sources within the administration. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's advisers held talks with White House, CIA, and Pentagon officials on Wednesday to determine if Washington approved the restrictions and how to resolve the situation. White House representatives told Ukrainians they do not control SpaceX, with one source saying the Trump administration plans to contact the company to investigate. SpaceX imposed limits on Starlink terminals overnight on October 14, with connectivity failing for drones moving faster than 160 km/h, and sometimes above 80 km/h. Zelensky called the move a mistake causing casualties, while Ukrainian officials believe the restrictions were intentional to pressure Kyiv against striking Russian oil refineries.
