Ukraine resumes strikes on Russian oil refineries as U.S. ties fray
Ukrainian drones attacked an oil refinery in Russia's Ryazan region early Thursday, igniting a fire, hours after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky declared a brief truce spurned by Moscow was over amid worsening tensions with Washington. The strike, confirmed by a senior Ukrainian official, targeted a facility about 180 miles southeast of Moscow and could further complicate Kyiv's strained relations with President Trump. Zelensky said Ukraine was resuming attacks on Russian oil refineries, citing frustration over U.S. restrictions on intelligence sharing and Starlink terminals, which he called vital for defense. Zelensky accused Trump of siding with Russia, particularly after a deal to import Russian diesel, and said he felt betrayed. The U.S. denies halting intelligence sharing. Meanwhile, Russia launched over 850 drones at Ukraine overnight, killing three people, as Zelensky headed to Brussels for EU talks.
