Trump Orders Starlink Restrictions in Ukraine, Musk Confirms
Ukraine's access to Starlink satellite internet has been restricted at the order of US President Donald Trump, according to SpaceX owner Elon Musk, who said the US government controls the military-grade Starshield system. Musk stated on X that any limits on speed or usage are decided by the US military and ultimately the president. Ukraine confirmed the restriction on Wednesday, linking it to a recent Trump-Putin understanding, with Ukrainian officials calling the move politically motivated. The restriction was imposed without prior notice to Ukraine or European allies, and follows Trump's criticism of Ukrainian strikes on Russian infrastructure. Reports also suggest the US may have halted intelligence sharing with Ukraine.
