Zelensky: Ukraine will resume strikes on Russian refineries
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Ukraine will resume attacks on Russian oil refineries, expressing anger over the US suspension of intelligence sharing and the weakening of Starlink satellite internet service while Russia intensifies its assaults. Zelensky made the statement to the Financial Times amid growing tensions between Kyiv and Washington. The US has reportedly proposed unfreezing some Russian sovereign assets into a Washington-supervised fund to restart peace negotiations, a plan European representatives and Kyiv have rejected. A Russian airstrike on Kropyvnytskyi killed three people and wounded six, while Russian forces also struck port infrastructure in Izmail and two cargo ships heading to Odesa. The UK pledged £17 million to repair the Chernobyl containment system damaged by a Russian drone attack in 2025.
