Ukraine expects F-16 jets and ammunition from Belgium, Zelensky says

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Kyiv expects to receive F-16 fighter jets and ammunition from Belgium, stating the aircraft help Ukrainian air defense intercept Russian jet-propelled drones. Zelensky made the statement after an audience with Belgium's King Philippe, emphasizing that strengthening air defense remains a top priority for Ukraine. He also met with Belgian Prime Minister Bart De Wever to discuss the consequences of Russian strikes on civilian and critical infrastructure. On the evening of October 15, Russian attacks targeted energy facilities in two Ukrainian regions, leaving nearly 15,000 people without power in Volyn and causing outages in parts of Kyiv. Zelensky also stressed the need to keep frozen Russian assets until the war ends.
