Ukraine says it destroyed six Russian Su-34M jets in Voronezh region strike
Ukraine's navy announced Thursday morning it destroyed six Russian Su-34M fighter jets in an overnight attack on the Borisoglebsk airfield in Russia's Voronezh region, using its Neptune missile system. The Ukrainian navy stated on Facebook that the strike also destroyed technical equipment needed for flight operations, with repeated explosions and a fire reported at the airfield. Social media images showed large blasts at the Russian military base. The Su-34M is an upgraded variant of the Su-34 series, delivered since 2022 and classified as 4+ generation. Ukraine said these jets are key for Russian guided bomb attacks on Ukrainian positions, so their destruction significantly weakens Russia's aerial potential.
