Ukraine's largest drone attack sets St. Petersburg oil terminal ablaze

cbc.ca —

Ukrainian attacks set an oil export terminal ablaze in St. Petersburg on Sunday, as Kyiv launched more than 1,000 drones across Russia in one of its largest ever aerial bombardments. One person was killed and five wounded in the strikes. The attack sparked fires at the Petersburg Oil Terminal and the Ruchi oil depot, with a logistics centre and data centre also targeted. Russia's Defence Ministry said it destroyed 1,015 drones over 15 regions, Crimea, and the Black Sea. The escalation follows U.S. President Donald Trump's Oct. 11 announcement of an "energy ceasefire," which Kyiv says Russia has violated with 76 attacks on its energy sector in the past week. A woman died in Russian strikes on Zaporizhzhia Saturday.
