Zelenskyy says Russia's war on Ukraine 'must be brought to an end'
Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said the war with Russia “must be brought to an end” and that Kyiv is preparing for the next diplomatic steps, following talks with US envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner. Zelenskyy said communication with Washington is “virtually nonstop” despite a fallout with President Donald Trump, who waived sanctions on Russia’s energy economy and criticized Ukrainian strikes. He also thanked the US for resuming intelligence sharing after a three-day pause that left Ukraine vulnerable to ballistic missile attacks. Ukraine reported restrictions on Starshield satellite connectivity, which the US denied throttling, while Secretary of State Marco Rubio said access for deep strikes inside Russia is under discussion. Russian strikes killed two in Volyn, and Ukraine launched its largest drone attack on St Petersburg since 2022.
