Ukraine's drones hit St. Petersburg oil sites and VK data center

war.obozrevatel.com (Ukrainian) —

Ukraine's defense forces attacked oil and digital infrastructure in St. Petersburg overnight on October 18 using FP-1 strike drones, causing fires at two oil facilities and damaging a data center. The strikes hit the Ruchi oil depot, the St. Petersburg Oil Terminal with an annual capacity of 12.5 million tons, and a data center for the Russian social network VKontakte, which sustained serious damage. Fire Point described the FP-1 drones as cost-effective, capable of day and night operations, and resistant to electronic warfare. The company said the drone system can be deployed in 18 minutes and features a concealed launch system with a rocket booster from stationary or mobile platforms. Fire Point commented on the attack with the ironic statement "White nights will continue!" A drone also struck a cable-stayed bridge in the city.
