Lithuania Thwarts Arson Attack on Starlink Equipment Storage Firm
Lithuanian Prime Minister Mindaugas Sinkevičius reported an overnight arson attempt on October 18 against a Lithuanian company storing Starlink communication equipment. The attack failed because security services had warned the firm in advance, allowing it to strengthen protective measures. The incident occurred just after midnight, with intelligence agencies having prior knowledge of the planned assault. Sinkevičius announced a National Security Commission meeting following a drone that flew over Lithuania that morning, stating the sabotage version must be seriously investigated. The drone was detected by radar around 6 a.m., possibly entering from Poland, with debris later found. The Prime Minister emphasized the need to determine the drone's origin and consider granting security services additional powers to neutralize such threats.
