Lithuania Thwarts Arson Attack on Starlink Equipment Storage

podrobnosti.ua (Ukrainian) —

Unknown individuals attempted to set fire to a Lithuanian company storing Starlink satellite communication equipment on the night of October 18. The attempt failed due to enhanced security, according to Prime Minister Gintautas Paluckas. The prime minister said intelligence services had warned the company of possible attacks, prompting increased protection. Defense Minister Robertas Kaunas confirmed the incident, noting a fire likely started on the premises but was brought under control. A pre-trial investigation has been launched. Paluckas linked the arson attempt to Russian hybrid warfare against Europe, though no Russian involvement has been established. He convened a National Security Commission meeting for October 19 to discuss the incident and a separate unidentified drone sighting in Lithuanian airspace. Similar Starlink equipment attacks occurred in Bulgaria and Poland.
