Ukraine apologizes after drone crash in Lithuania, blames Russian jamming
Ukraine's Foreign Ministry spokesperson Heorhii Tykhyi stated that a Ukrainian drone that crashed in Lithuania on October 19 was likely knocked off course by Russian electronic warfare systems. He apologized for any inconvenience, risks, or concerns caused by the incident. Tykhyi explained the drone deviated from its course during an operation against legitimate military targets on Russian territory, likely due to Russian electronic warfare. Ukraine is ready to provide Lithuania with all details to clarify the circumstances, and both countries will cooperate closely to prevent similar incidents in the future. The drone wreckage was found in the village of Juodionys in northern Lithuania, with radars detecting the object around 6:00 a.m. Lithuanian fighter jets were scrambled but could not intercept it due to weather conditions. Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda noted the incident highlights threats from Russian aggression, while Defense Minister Robertas Kaunas identified the drone as an FP-1 model.
