Ukraine launches largest drone attack of the year on Russian oil facilities, defying Trump
Ukraine launched its largest drone attack of the year against Russia overnight, striking major oil terminals and defying President Trump's demand to halt strikes on Russian energy infrastructure. The attack targeted a major oil terminal in St. Petersburg with annual capacity of up to 12.5 million tons, causing a fire, and also hit a logistics center and a data center. Russia reported shooting down 1,015 drones, with one person killed and five injured. The escalation comes amid rising Ukraine-US tensions, with President Zelensky warning that the US siding with Russia would be a "historic mistake." He claimed Russia has deliberately attacked Ukrainian energy facilities 76 times since Trump announced an energy ceasefire a week ago.
