Lithuania reports drone strike damages civilian car near Biržai
An unidentified drone that violated Lithuanian airspace on Sunday crashed near a civilian vehicle, damaging it, with no reports of injuries so far, according to Vilmantas Vitkauskas, head of Lithuania's National Crisis Management Centre. The drone fell close to a car traveling from Biržai to Pasvalys; the driver heard an explosion and debris dented the vehicle's door. Prime Minister Mindaugas Sinkevičius said it is unclear if the blast occurred in the air or upon impact, and whether the drone carried explosives. The air alert system worked but only partially, as warnings came solely from the Kaunas district, though radars show the drone entered from Poland. Debris is being collected for analysis, and Lithuania will consult NATO partners on response to these recurring incidents.
