Ukraine's 1,000-drone attack sets St. Petersburg oil terminal ablaze
Ukraine launched more than 1,000 drones at Russia on Sunday, setting an oil export terminal and depot ablaze in St. Petersburg, killing one person and wounding five others in one of the war's largest aerial attacks. The strikes targeted the Petersburg Oil Terminal, Ruchi oil depot, an Ozon logistics center, and a VK data center, according to local officials and companies. Russia's Defense Ministry reported destroying 1,015 drones across 15 regions, Crimea, and the Black Sea. The attack deepened U.S.-Ukraine tensions, with President Trump criticizing strikes on Russian oil infrastructure and uncertainty over further sanctions. Ukrainian President Zelensky warned that waiving sanctions would strengthen Putin, while accusing Russia of 76 attacks on Ukraine's energy sector since a U.S.-brokered ceasefire announcement.
