Drone crash in Lithuania triggers NATO response
An unidentified drone crashed in Lithuania, with debris found in the Pasvalys district after NATO fighters failed to intercept it due to poor weather conditions. The drone may have entered from Poland. Lithuanian radars detected the object around 6 a.m., prompting jets from Šiauliai airbase to scramble, but visual contact was impossible. Authorities have contacted Polish counterparts, and Defense Minister Robertas Kaunas said response procedures may be reviewed. Police are checking reports of possible vehicle damage from the crash. Kaunas criticized that only northern Lithuania residents received threat warnings. Poland denied airspace violations but sent a search team near Lublin to investigate a possible object fall.
