Ukraine's 1,000-drone attack sets St. Petersburg oil terminal ablaze
Ukraine launched more than 1,000 drones at Russia on Sunday, setting an oil export terminal and depot ablaze in St. Petersburg and killing one person, in one of the war's largest aerial attacks. The strikes deepened tensions with Washington as President Donald Trump criticized Kyiv's targeting of Russian oil infrastructure. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said waiving sanctions would strengthen Russia's war effort, while Trump signed an executive order Friday waiving planned restrictions. Zelenskyy called siding with Moscow a "historic mistake" for Washington, and confirmed U.S.-Ukraine intelligence sharing had resumed after being blocked. Russia said it destroyed 1,015 drones over 15 regions, while a Russian attack on Zaporizhzhia killed one woman. Kyiv reported 76 Russian strikes on Ukrainian energy sites in the week since a U.S.-brokered "energy ceasefire" was announced, and Ukraine apologized to Lithuania after a drone entered its airspace.
