Russia launches Iskander missile and 180 drones at Ukraine, Kyiv downs 152
Russia attacked Ukraine overnight with an Iskander-M ballistic missile and 180 drones, with Ukrainian air defenses reporting 152 drones shot down or neutralized, according to preliminary data from Kyiv's Air Force. The attack caused impacts in 20 locations and debris falls in four others. The drone assault included Shahed, S-8000 Banderol, Gerbera, and Parodiya decoy models launched from Russian territory and occupied areas of Donetsk and Crimea, while the missile was fired from Russia's Voronezh region. A separate Russian strike on a residential building in Zaporizhzhia killed a 27-year-old woman, and an attack on Rivne targeted civilian infrastructure with no reported casualties. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky reported 76 strikes on energy infrastructure since a US-brokered energy truce was announced a week ago, leaving tens of thousands of families without power and killing two people. Russia claimed to have shot down 126 Ukrainian drones over the Leningrad region, where a fuel terminal was hit and Pulkovo airport operations were restricted.
