Lithuania calls Starlink arson attempt Russian sabotage

nv.ua (Ukrainian) —

Lithuania has classified an attempted arson at a facility storing Starlink communication equipment as sabotage linked to Russia, aimed at undermining Ukraine's military capabilities. Vilmantas Vitkauskas, head of Lithuania's National Crisis Management Centre, said the incident was not ordinary arson but an act of sabotage connected to similar fires in Bulgaria and Poland as part of Russian efforts to disable Starlink. The fire near Vilnius was quickly extinguished, causing minor damage. The incident follows a September 23 fire at a Starlink ground station in Poland and a September 14 fire in Bulgaria that destroyed 11 antennas. Two Turkish citizens were detained in Germany over the Polish attack.
