Ukraine launches major drone attack on Russian oil terminal despite Trump pressure
Ukraine launched one of its largest drone attacks on Russia this year overnight Saturday, striking a key oil terminal in St. Petersburg in defiance of US President Donald Trump's demand to halt such strikes. Russia's defense ministry reported shooting down 1,015 Ukrainian drones, with the St. Petersburg Oil Terminal hit and a fire reported on its grounds. One person was killed and five wounded, according to local authorities, as tensions escalate between Kyiv and Washington. The attack follows Trump's criticism of Ukrainian strikes on Russian refineries and his waiver of sanctions on Russian diesel imports. President Volodymyr Zelensky warned that US support for Russia would be a "historic mistake," while accusing Moscow of attacking Ukrainian energy sites 76 times since the announced ceasefire.
