Russia Strikes Kyiv with Ballistic Missiles Twice in One Night

rbc.ua (Ukrainian) —

Russian forces struck Kyiv with ballistic missiles for the second time in several hours overnight, with explosions reported in the capital. The attack occurred in the early hours of October 19, following an earlier strike hours before. The Ukrainian Air Force warned of a ballistic threat before the explosions, and residents were urged to remain in shelters until the air raid alert ended. The first attack late on October 18 preliminarily hit a medical center building in the Desnianskyi district and a non-residential building in the Dniprovskyi district, killing one person and injuring two others. Ukraine faces increasing difficulty defending against ballistic missiles, as CNN reports the country has again run out of Patriot interceptor missiles. President Volodymyr Zelensky said the US currently supplies only about 12 such missiles per month, roughly four times fewer than under the Biden administration.
