Ukrainian firm Fire Point confirms drone strike on Saint Petersburg

korrespondent.net (Russian) —

Ukrainian defense company Fire Point confirmed a drone attack on Saint Petersburg, stating its FP-1 drones struck the city's oil terminal and a VKontakte data center. The strike on the Petersburg Oil Terminal, one of the region's largest export facilities with an annual capacity of 12.5 million tons, caused a fire. The company also reported serious damage to a key VKontakte data center in Novosergievka, Leningrad Oblast, leading to user-reported social network outages. The October 18 attack was the largest drone assault on Saint Petersburg since the war began, also hitting an Ozon warehouse, the Ruchi oil depot, and a 330 kV substation, causing power outages. Ukrainian advisor Serhiy Beskrestnov noted the drones flew 1,000 km at up to 200 km/h through four defended regions.
