Zelensky Slams US Sanctions Blackout as Russia Strikes Ukraine's Power Grid

ua.korrespondent.net (Ukrainian) —

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky criticized the US for ignoring a sanctions bill, saying this encourages Russia to continue attacks on Ukraine's energy infrastructure. He spoke after one of the largest strikes on the country's power grid. Russian forces attacked over 15 critical energy generation and transmission facilities across multiple regions, with the most difficult situations in Lutsk, Rivne, Zhytomyr, Vinnytsia, Shepetivka, Slavuta, and Netishyn. Zelensky said Russia is trying to disperse Ukraine's recovery capabilities. Zelensky expressed disappointment with Donald Trump's actions, stating that the "American sanctions blackout" and weakening pressure on the aggressor only motivate Putin to continue the war. He thanked European partners for new support packages and urged the US to enforce the Lindsey Graham law.
