Ukraine's top diplomat rejects trilateral Putin-Trump-Xi summit as inappropriate
Ukraine's Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha has criticized a proposed trilateral meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin, US President Donald Trump, and Chinese leader Xi Jinping, calling it inappropriate amid intensified Russian attacks on Ukrainian cities. Sybiha stated that a meeting between Ukraine, the US, and Russia would be more effective in ending the war, while the proposed trilateral talks would encourage Putin to continue hostilities and grant him undeserved status. He emphasized that Putin is a war criminal and Russia is a global problem. The minister noted Russia's economy is at least 13 times smaller than America's and eight times smaller than China's, with Russian military losses reaching 1.6 million killed and wounded. He said Putin could only participate in such a meeting if he agreed to a ceasefire before negotiations.
