Putin proposes Russia-US-China summit on Ukraine, excluding Zelensky

ethnos.gr (Greek) —

Russian President Vladimir Putin has proposed a November summit with US President Donald Trump and Chinese leader Xi Jinping to negotiate an end to the war in Ukraine. The proposal was made during an October 9 phone call with Trump, according to the Wall Street Journal. The summit would exclude Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, a move the WSJ notes would alarm European leaders. Trump separately criticized Zelensky on Truth Social, accusing him of not wanting peace and defending his suspension of sanctions against Russia to keep Moscow at the negotiating table. Trump stated he is in the process of negotiating peace and does not want to foolishly push Russia away. He also claimed Zelensky could have secured a better deal two years ago.
