Europeans develop Starlink alternative, Zelensky says

pravda.com.ua (Ukrainian) —

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Europeans are developing an analogue to Starlink after witnessing how the US can restrict the satellite internet system's operation. Zelensky said Europeans, as Starlink users, saw through Ukraine's example that the US can regulate the service and limit speed regardless of agreements or contracts. He expressed confidence that European efforts on alternatives are progressing and will succeed. Ukraine conducted a test in EU territory confirming Starlink restrictions were a planned operation. The Telegraph reported SpaceX CEO Elon Musk proposed slowing Starlink in Ukraine to Donald Trump, who denied responsibility on October 16. The Pentagon has not publicly explained the restrictions.
