Zelensky offered to halt strikes on Russian refineries for more Patriot missiles
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky proposed to the Trump administration halting Ukrainian attacks on Russian oil refineries in exchange for additional Patriot air defense interceptor missiles, as he revealed in a Bloomberg interview. Zelensky stated the US currently supplies Ukraine with only 12 Patriot interceptors monthly, roughly a quarter of previous volumes under the Biden administration, with missiles now sold rather than provided as free military aid. He noted Russia has intensified ballistic attacks amid delivery delays. The president said some weapons purchased under the PURL program were sanctioned by the US side, calling it not a technical issue. On October 16, he said Kyiv is no longer the top priority, receiving PAC-2 and PAC-3 missiles funded by European countries.
