Russia, US, China may hold trilateral summit in November
A potential trilateral summit of Russian, US, and Chinese leaders may take place in November, according to Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, with Russia proposing the Ukraine conflict as a key topic. The Kremlin proposed the meeting during an October 9 call between Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump, and has since communicated the idea to Beijing. Trump has not yet agreed but may be receptive, while China has signaled it would not object if the US president participates. Russia suggested holding the meeting on the sidelines of the APEC summit in Shenzhen on November 18-19. Trump has previously said a Russia-Ukraine agreement could be reached before winter, while Putin stated ceasefire proposals are already "on the table." US special envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner were preparing new ideas for Ukraine settlement to present to Putin by late October.
