Putin proposes trilateral summit with Trump and Xi on Ukraine
Russian President Vladimir Putin has proposed a trilateral summit with US President Donald Trump and Chinese leader Xi Jinping to discuss the war in Ukraine, according to The Wall Street Journal, citing informed sources. The Kremlin reportedly aims to hold the meeting during the APEC summit in Shenzhen, China, on November 18-19. Putin raised the idea during an October 9 phone call with Trump, and the two also discussed US purchases of Russian diesel fuel. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov confirmed ongoing discussions, though Trump has not yet agreed. The proposal excludes Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, raising concerns in Ukraine and Europe. China has signaled it would not object if Trump participates.
