Zelensky: US Pressures Ukraine to Capitulate, Delays Patriot Missiles
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky accused US President Donald Trump of pressuring Ukraine toward capitulation to Russia and delaying deliveries of Patriot interceptor missiles, in a Bloomberg interview on Sunday. Zelensky said US actions appear aimed at ending the war faster at Ukraine's expense, though he stopped short of asserting that as a definitive partner goal. He also stated Washington approved only partial delivery of paid-for interceptors under the PURL program, calling it a political, not technical, issue. The US currently supplies Ukraine just 12 Patriot interceptors monthly, roughly a quarter of previous volumes under Joe Biden, and now sells them instead of providing them free. Zelensky suggested relations could improve after US midterm elections on November 3.
