Zelenskyy says US pressures Ukraine to surrender

aftenposten.no (Swedish) —

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy claims the US is pressuring Ukraine to surrender, in an interview with Bloomberg. The statement follows the US suspension of sanctions on Russia's energy and defense sectors, which Zelenskyy says is part of a pattern harming Ukraine, including restrictions on Starlink. He also revealed a final proposal to stop attacks on Russian diesel in exchange for more US missiles, which was rejected. The US has also pushed Ukraine to halt strikes on Russian oil refineries, with Donald Trump calling such attacks "a shame." Russia's full-scale invasion began in February 2022, following its annexation of Crimea eight years earlier.
