US comments on suspending anti-Russia measures under new law

ru.apa.az (Russian) —

The White House stated that enforcing anti-Russia measures under a new US law would hinder Washington's efforts to resolve the Ukrainian crisis. This comment was made by White House spokesperson Taylor Rogers, as reported by Axios. Rogers said sanctions enforcement would impede ongoing US efforts to achieve a lasting peace agreement through negotiations. She added that President Donald Trump retains the ability to impose these measures at any time if deemed in US national interests. Trump previously signed an executive order suspending the anti-Russia measures until further notice. The law, signed September 18, includes 500% tariffs on Russian imports and 100% tariffs on key buyers of Russian energy, but allows waiver if not in US interests.
