Zelensky: US pressure risks forcing Ukraine into capitulation
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that the actions of Donald Trump's administration appear to be an attempt to force Ukraine into capitulation to Russia, citing pressure over strikes on Russian refineries and delays in Patriot missile deliveries. In a Bloomberg interview, Zelensky said Ukraine proposed halting attacks on Russian fuel infrastructure in exchange for additional Patriot missiles, but Washington demands a ceasefire without such a deal. He noted the US provides only 12 Patriot missiles monthly, about a quarter of previous volumes, with some paid-for weapons still unapproved. Zelensky called the period before the November 3 US midterm elections dangerous but hoped relations would improve afterward. He also mentioned restored intelligence sharing with the US after a temporary block on October 18.
