US lawmakers urge Trump to press Musk on Starlink for Ukraine
23 US lawmakers from both parties have asked President Donald Trump to urge Elon Musk to grant Ukraine access to Starlink satellite services for targeting Russian missile launchers. The request aims to enhance Ukraine's military capabilities. The letter, signed by seven Republicans and 16 Democrats, argues that a single phone call could save lives and incentivize Vladimir Putin to negotiate. Lawmakers say Ukraine needs Starlink to strike Russian launchers if it cannot reliably intercept missiles. The appeal follows reported Starlink and Starshield disruptions affecting Ukrainian air defense and operations. It complements a Senate lobbying effort led by Republican Senator Roger Wicker, while Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has also pressed for expanded US assistance.
