Musk ordered Starlink slowdown for Ukraine, report says

cnbc.com —

Elon Musk ordered a slowdown of SpaceX's Starlink service for Ukraine, capping connection speeds and leaving some Ukrainian drones virtually inoperable, The Wall Street Journal reported Tuesday, citing U.S. officials and sources. The decision, made last week, was discussed with President Donald Trump and senior administration officials soon after it became public, according to the report. Musk and Trump have both recently criticized Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who has flagged disruptions in U.S. intelligence sharing. The White House and Musk did not immediately respond to requests for comment. Trump said Monday he did not know who ordered the interruption but would like to find out. Zelenskyy's public complaints prompted an informal White House investigation, the Journal reported.
