US lawmakers urge Trump to press Musk on Starlink access for Ukraine's strikes on Russian launchers
A bipartisan group of nearly two dozen US House members has urged President Donald Trump to ask Elon Musk to grant Ukraine access to Starlink satellite systems for targeting Russian missile launchers. The lawmakers sent a letter on Wednesday, as reported by The Hill. The letter, signed by seven Republicans and sixteen Democrats, argues that if Ukraine cannot intercept Russian missiles, it should be able to target the launchers. The lawmakers stated that a single phone call from Trump could save lives and give Vladimir Putin more incentive to negotiate. Signatories include prominent Ukraine supporters like Joe Wilson, Brian Fitzpatrick, and Don Bacon. The appeal comes amid growing Republican frustration over reported Starlink service disruptions in Ukraine, with The Wall Street Journal reporting Musk ordered a slowdown. Senator Tom Tillis is launching an investigation into Pentagon dealings regarding the satellite communication issues.
